Nurse Maui 2

If you ask anyone from my School, theyd probably tell you I dont wear makeup LOL Well thats what most would think. All through out college or at least when we had Clinical Duties I never really bothered to fix myself up. At the most, all I had was concealer, powder, eyeliner and blush.

The very main reason was: I love to sleep and I try to get as much as I can haha. I didnt want to wake up 2 - 3 hours earlier to prepare. 2nd reason: Some of the places where we had our clinicals didnt have air conidtioning. I did not want to sweat my makeup off or constantly have to blot my face and check myself out in the mirror. 3rd reason: On some rotations all we did was sleep! LOL I did not feel like prettifying myself and just sleep at a hospital.

Some Clinical instructors frowned upon being made up too (i dont know if they just think its not right or they want you to look like hell just because haha) Ive had an Instructor who required you to wear lipstick! haha. Then I remembered there was one who asked me to at least put on eyeshadow! hahaha But yeah basically I was lazy. Im very transparent in a sense that when I feel stressed out, I will look stressed out LOL and college was very stressful!

But If I had clinicals now, it probably wouldnt be the same. But I could just be saying that because im not actually stressed out with school anymore. Anyway, I got an email/request to do a "nurse look". I was actually procastinating with this post because like I said I neve bothered when I had duties. So i had no idea how to go about this haha. So heres what I came up with:

Just to be on the safe side. Go for a basic/simple look. You really just want to look fresh and AWAKE! :) I kept it simple and just used a soft wash of color on the lids with neutral e/s. Lined it but didnt flick it at the ends. Lined my waterline with white eye liner. Highlighted the brow area. Mascara and curled my lashes. Conceal the dark shadows udner the eyes and blemishes, sheer application of foundation, Light blush and tinted lipgloss.

I was trying to look for my nursing cap but couldnt find it LOL so I just tied my hair. This is one reason why I didnt think Nursing was for me. I dont like tying my hair up in a bun or ponytail. I dont think it suits me haha.

I really hope this helps!! :) Thanks Christine Nichole

ooo that's pretty! You can be my nurse :D I guess what they want is for people to look polished? That's what Career services tell us law students too - to have nice shoes, good hygiene, washed hair, etc.

Becks: Thanks dear! haha though im probably rusty now I havent practiced in more than a year LOL.

Yeah, i'd be concerned if my nurse had dirty shoes, greasy hair or dirty nails hahahah :)

i also don't put too much make up way back then on our duty days..a concealer, powder, eyeliner and blush is fine with me..same reason as you..( don't want to sweat my makeup off or constantly have to blot my face..lol) and up to now when i go out on duty i still do the same..same basic look..haha..=D

@Kay: Thanks so much! :) yeah they are hehe clean polished awake look I think is best for when youre on duty

@Cindy: haha yeah, it is a hassle sometimes. Its just one less thing to worry about when you have so many things to do

i love the maui nurse look! hehe although my approach to make up when we were in college was quite the opposite with yours. i love putting it on haha especially eyeshadow and it somehow puts me in a good mood in the 8 hours that we have to spend in the hospital. except during the night shift rotation of course. and i have lost my nursing cap too hahaha i had to borrow someone else's during the oath taking
