Golden Dusk

Someone obviously has free time to blog =) Trying to make up for the lack of posts. Seeing that i've only blogged 3 times this month irks me haha. With still a few days left before september, I am bent on getting that number up to at least 5 haha.

Anyway, just posting a look i did the other day. Should have taken a picture of it earlier though, after a long of day of going here and there, the colors have faded a bit and the eyeliner not as dark as it was earlier. Here it is anyway..

The eyelining on the inner corner starting to fade haha.
Ewwie lashes maybe I should wear falsies everyday, yes? haha

A weird angle but I love how the color
gradient looks
. But my lashes are looking rather sparse, boo!

*What I used for the eyes:
-M.A.C Woodwinked (lid)
-M.A.C. Free to be, Hot hot hot, Expensive Pink and Coppering (crease up to brow bone)
-M.A.C. Nocturnelle and Shadowy Lady (Outer Crease)
-M.A.C. Carbon (outer v)

* I know I tend to go nuts with all the eyeshadows I use. But you basically just need a few key things to do this look: Woodwinked, Hot hot hot or free to be (for the crease) Nocturnelle and Carbon =)

Havent had much time to make an effort with my makeup lately. So with a new month coming up, I promise to myself that I will wake up earlier to do my makeup haha and then hopefully i'd get some free time to post and share them with all of you :)

Day and Night

I've been itching to do purple eye makeup, but haven't had the chance to do it on any recent clients so I decided to do it on myself haha. After going through a pink phase, I think im going through a purple phase. Purple reminds me of Urban Decay which reminds me of Glam Rock, I dont know why haha probably because of how they market the brand. Such a shame I was intimidated by the very colorful and shimmery Urban Decay eye shadows when I had the chance to hoard on them.

Purple eyeshadow is such a pretty shade to use to emphasize brown eyes. I personally like more vibrant shades of purple or light pastel shades of lavander. I find that overpowering my outer v with darker shades of purple tend to make my eyes look muddy and tired. So when I want a purple look thats more suited for a night out, I sweep the darker purple shade all over the lids and turn it into a purple smokey eye look.

Here is a lighter purple EOTD I did. If youre not intimidated by colors this one is pretty easy to do =)

- Apply a light shade of purple/lavander on the lids and top it off with a shimmery neautal e/s ( I used MAC Femme-Fi)
- Apply mid tone purple e/s on the crease and blend upwards. Apply on outer sorner and blend towards the lid.
- Apply white eyeliner on water line. And line lower lashline with the shade you used on your crase.
- Put on eyeliner, curl lashes and apply mascara and youre good to go!

Now heres how I would turn my purple eotd up a notch for a night out. =)

- Having done my eyes with lighter shade of purple, I apply a darker shade of purple all over my lids and lightly blend towards the crease.
- Apply black eyeliner on the water line and make your eyeliner more defined (which I have failed to do in this photo hehe)

Pretty simple, yes? Purple is one of the easier colored shades to do and pull off. Took about 10 minutes to do both looks. It's monday again and its time to go back to the grind. Have a great week! =)

Finals/Portfolio: Colored Makeup

If there's one thing that I love most about makeup, its mixing colors! I like combining colors that are rarely used. If I had the time to do my makeup everyday, id definitely go for colored, but that isnt the case so I stick with neutrals most of the time hehe.

The first look I did for our Artistic Makeup Class finals was the colored makeup. I knew I wanted an eye popping color, so I used chrome yellow and went on from there. I used orange, purple and blue. Pretty weird if you think about it, but I think it turned out pretty well. This is probably my favorite, also because I wasnt stressed YET. haha

The challenge for this look for our finals, was to make the eyes pop or stand out by using only colored eyeliner. I know my eyes look icky before I put on some eyeliner. But my model, Miel's eye were beautiful and well defined even without eyeliner!

I met Miel the very first time when she came over to help me out with my finals. I found her through Fetz when she posted her shoot a few months ago. I really liked her look and decided to ask (no harm in asking) I was thrilled when she said yes, she came in at 7:3o-8:00 when one of my models cancelled last minute! Life saver! I originally planned on doing a semi smokey on Miel, but I think this turned out better! =)

Still waiting to be graded for our finals, and I tell you its nerve wracking. I just want to get it over with, so I can stop obsessing with the pictures haha. As Ive mentioned, I was quite disapointed with how I performed for the finals. So I kinda just want to move on and forget about it haha but until I get my final grades, I will continue looking for flaws and errors LOL

What I used:
Cinema Secrets Ultimate Foundation in kit #3
RCMA Invisible Setting Powder
A bit of FS Chino Face powder
Coastal Scents Highlight and Contour Palette and Blush Palette
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MAC Chrome Yellow, Amber lights, Nocturnelle
Coastal Scents Orange, Purple, Blue
Mixing Medium for eyeliner (+Blue CS e/s)
A bunch of lipstick mixed together

Pretty Dramatic

Heavy Drama and quite intense. People would probably gawk at me if i wore this out during daylight haha. Attempted to do a look from Petrilude again. This is a look he made inspired by Jafar from Disney's Alladin. He is so talented and so creative! This ones pretty different. Im used to working my way from the lid up. With this one, you had to start from the brow area down. Anyway, if you want to try this one as well, you may do so by following this LINK.

Did a bad job on the inner corner eyeliner, I dont think its even and a little thick. But I got lazy to fix it haha. Im definately going to try it again though, like how it makes your eyes look HUGE. Anyway, here are the pictures

Purple

Woke up really early and had nothing else to do soo....

Click on the (+) to make the slide go faster. I didnt put the slide on fast cause it made me dizzy haha.

Anyway, the most important (makeup) piece of advice i've heard is to have faith and keep going! lol you know how when you start off you think "mehh, this isnt working"? Well the whole thing wont come together until youre finally done so unless youre in a rush, just keep going and have faith that it will turn out nice! haha makes sense to me :)

Though I obviously didnt finish that one up there haha. The lash kept falling off (used the shady glue that came with the lashes) gave up on it and after I got the left eye right, I took it right off thinking I was going to fall back asleep.

I woke up at 3:30 am thinking that the Perseids Meteor Shower was this morning- actually still confused if it was this morning or tomorrow. But I did go out to check and the sky was dark and full of clouds, so that was kind of pointless. Then I couldnt go back to sleep, as usual. 0.0

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Purple e/s from the Matte and Shimmer Palette (Coastal Scents)
M.A.C. Vibrant Grape
M.A.C. Carbon
M.A.C. Vanilla
M.A.C. Femme Fi
Random False lashes (with sucky glue!)

Holiday

Getting ready to go to bed (well no not really) when my friend Michie called and asked what I was doing. I said I was just at home and then she asks "whyy? tomorrows a holiday." I said "well, it makes no difference to me" Everyday is a holiday! lol

Anyway we ended up going to Cedar Grill in BF had some chicken and fries (I just had fries) and absolut kurrant with Sprite. After a while she said she was bored and wanted to move so we moved to Tides BF only to learn they dont serve Mango Margarita by the glass anymore. Sucks. Had some beer, garlic mushrooms and stuffed squid. I didnt know she was allergic to seafood so I had that baby all to myself. hahaha.

Here's my date :)

She came from Makati so I had time to prepare hehe. Getting sick of Neutrals and decided to use Vibrant Grape and Bright Future from M.A.C.'s Style Warrior.

I took th pictures when I got home. Hence, the unruly eyebrows. haha

Added Embark to deepen the color. I need to get a camera blackberry keeps washing out the colors cant see Vibrant Grape too much in the pics

L-R: Bright Future, Femme-Fi and Vibrant Grape. The one in the bottom is Embark (reddish brown)

Anyway, new layout. Im still getting used to it. Like this one better or the old one better? My last layout seemed gloomy to me hehe. Will finish customizing this later some links dont work yet. tululoo

Pretty Purple and Pink

Soo for a change I decided to use a color ive never used. Pink and Purple! I hated these colors when I was a kid haha but anyway, I loved it!

Here are the pictures. I apologize for the unruliness though haha I took the pictures 11 hours after application!! And it was pretty much still intact except for one of my falsies which look like its ready to fall off! Ohh and the pink E/S were not as vibrant but hello, 11 hours! haha

I also used a blush from the contour palette and even though it was huge, I stuffed it into my bag thinking that I would need to re apply. And surprise surprise! 11 hours after, it was still as vibrant! I wouldve posted a picture of my whole face but after 11 hours, I looked super exhausted haha

What I used:
Urban Decay primer Potion
Coastal Scents 88 Matte Eye shadow Palette
M.A.C. nylon (inner corner and tear duct)
Loreal HIP eyeliner
Ardell false lashes

I dont know if the pictures would help but these are the colors that I used (Click on the images to see a larger version - I encircled the color I used in red using paint haha):

1) Highlight - brow bone

2)Wash above the crease

3) Dabbed on both colors and applied on the lid

4) Applied on the crease

5)Used the 2 purples on the outer corner of eyes and crease, applied a little black on the outer corners and blended to add depth to the crease.

BLEND BLEND BLEND!! :)

Anyway, wore this to a baptism and a birthday party. The baby im baby sitting was baptized today then we had lunch at a korean/japanese/chinese buffet somewhere in Vallejo. We then went to Danville for Sarah's 6th birthday celebration with her family. I am exhausted!

Me and Jhelyn after she was baptized

My cousin in her new blue dress that she wore. Soo cute! Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland
