Golden Dusk

Someone obviously has free time to blog =) Trying to make up for the lack of posts. Seeing that i've only blogged 3 times this month irks me haha. With still a few days left before september, I am bent on getting that number up to at least 5 haha.


Anyway, just posting a look i did the other day. Should have taken a picture of it earlier though, after a long of day of going here and there, the colors have faded a bit and the eyeliner not as dark as it was earlier. Here it is anyway..

-M.A.C Woodwinked (lid)
-M.A.C. Free to be, Hot hot hot, Expensive Pink and Coppering (crease up to brow bone)
-M.A.C. Nocturnelle and Shadowy Lady (Outer Crease)
-M.A.C. Carbon (outer v)

* I know I tend to go nuts with all the eyeshadows I use. But you basically just need a few key things to do this look: Woodwinked, Hot hot hot or free to be (for the crease) Nocturnelle and Carbon =)

Havent had much time to make an effort with my makeup lately. So with a new month coming up, I promise to myself that I will wake up earlier to do my makeup haha and then hopefully i'd get some free time to post and share them with all of you :)

I just realized that I want more shoots that allow me to go nuts with color. I really enjoy going crazy mixing and matching loud, bold and bright colors! :)

Hot hot hot!

Im not referring to the weather, but yes it's definitely a hot hot hot day! 93 F! gahh! The air is so heavy, I feel like a pancake wrapped in butter with syrup! yuck! I just got out of the shower, and i want to shower again hahah. I probably will in a few.


But back to my entry, Hot hot hot is an eyeshadow from M.A.C.'s Spring Colour Forecast. Its a lovely shade but one of those will I ever get to use this kind of eye shadow. But im a fan of color, and I like combining unusual shades together. The moment I saw and swatched Hot hot hot I knew we were meant to be...hahah.


I actually like the shade on the lids alone, but I tried to use it with other colors the other day and i liked it! But forgot to take a picture so i'm redoing it now to share with everyone here hehe

What I used and how I did it:

M.A.C. Hot hot hot - applied on the lid blended towards the crease
M.A.C Expensive Pink - applied on the hollows and blended towards crease and browbone
M.AC. Charcoal Brown - applied on crease and blended
M.A.C Embark - applied on outer V blended towards mid of the crease

• Lined inner lower lashline with expensive pink, mid lower lashline with hot hot hot and blended towards expensive pink, embark on outer lower lashline blended towards hot hot hot
• Lined lower waterline midway and upper lashline with in2it gel liner
• Curl lashes, applied mascara (dont forget the lower lashes!) and voila.

FOTD: Still fascinated with Pink!

The title says it all, im still in love with pink! Quite a hangover from the spring collections. This time I did my eyes with just a subtle hint of pink. Looks more like a semi smokey with just one shade of pink for the eyes (crease color).

I again apologize for the messy hair, it looks like ive been out jogging
or something haha. It's way too hot nowadays here in the Philippines, unbearable heat!!

I think adding color to your usual eye look is a great way to brighten things up. Use a bright colored eyeshadow on your crease or as an eyeliner. That way, Neutrals wont seem as boring (I know I get tired of using neutral colors all the time hehe)

Finals/Portfolio: Semi Smoky

Hello, posting another one of the looks I did for my finals/portfolio. I love semi-smokey because this is what I do on myself often. hehe even my friend, Caby, commented that this looks exactly how I do my own makeup.


The challenge for this look during our finals was how we could make the golds or bronzes stand out more. I already knew what I was going to do, before finding out we needed to use gold/bronze. So I just adjusted it a bit and thank goodness I had planned on using gold and pink for the eyes haha.

My lovely model Jess! We've known each other since we were kids and went to the same college too =)

For the eyes, I used a quad from 4u2 that I fell in love with! I will post a review on it soon, I promise! But overall, I like their eye shadows, good color payoff and very minimal fallout. I used mostly just that quad except for MAC Charcoal brown for the hollows of the crease and Embark for the outer corner.

Prom Makeup

A few days ago, I woke up to a ringing phone. Big Shock, since I usually dont hear my phone ringing when i'm asleep or wake up because my phone is ringing or the alarm is ringing (even if you call me 15 times - I usually wont hear it LOL) Yes, yes, I sleep like a log.

But anyway, I got a phone call from a friend who was at work, her sister was going to the prom on that day and she didnt want to have her sisters makeup done at a salon or a parlor without her so she asked if I could do it. Theres no denying how much I love makeup and how much more I love doing makeup on others (i've been getting bored with my own face recently haha) so I said yes.

Here is Riz before the whole process. Yes, process. It took me more
than an hour because I wanted to make sure I got everything right. You wouldnt
want to mess someones make up for something as monumental as Prom, you know!

I wish I knew how to put makeup on myself when we went to Prom. We were lucky enough to get a Makeup Artist to do our Makeup for Prom. But I do remember wearing a black and pink gown and the Makeup Artist had applied a blue eyeshadow on me. When I asked why he didnt use a color that was closer to my gown's color, his reply was something along the line that translates to youre not paying me enough for that! ugh. I dont know where in this world, or his world is blue anywhere near complimentary to black or pink. But anyway....


Riz didnt have her dress with her, but I asked what the color was and what it looked like. She said it was black and it was a knee legnth tube top dress. I think Prom Makeup should be fresh looking and light, so instead of going for smokey eyes, I decided to do a sort of pink smokey eyes. Which I will try on myself one of these days haha.

I had fun doing makeup for Riz! We talked about a lot of things related to highschool, which made me wish I was back in Highschool as well! haha =) I also try to learn new things whenever I do makeup. What I learned from this one is how important a primer is when youre doing makeup for someone who has dry skin. A primer would help the foundation stick better to drier skin types.

It was nice to see pictures of her at her prom. She and her sister also said that they did love the Makeup ( I do hope you really did LOL), which was a relief! haha Im more nervous doing makeup on people I know than on strangers. A big thank you to Aki and Riz for trusting me to do the makeup hehe =)

Last Saturday we were able to sink our teeth in on some discounted/used makeup. I was just actually going to look, but found 2 eye shadows that Ive always wanted to get: Gesso and Expensive Pink.

After sanitzing and allowing to dry, decided to play with them. And what better way but use both colors in one look hehe. Gesso on the inner corner and lid, expensive pink on mid lid and crease, embark and a bit of carbon on the crease, MSF in refined for highlight. Used a brown eyeliner from fashion 21 (I really hate the aplicator btw) and random Mascara (I cant remember haha). Dont mind my unruly brows, was too lazy to do the whole she-bang haha

Viva Brazil!

The College I went to hosts a yearly Beauty Pageant to celebrate its foundation week. I decided to go since I loved the theme this year, Brazilian Carnival! A good excuse to go crazy on the eye makeup haha and I think one of the reasons I got into makeup or what started me getting more into makeup was joining the said pageant a few years back LOL (See my entry about that HERE. hahaha) I kept on getting frustrated because they made my face too white or used a very light foundation making me look gray, when the official picture was taken I looked like a lion. seriously. haha. Anyway, my frustration eventually grew into wanting to learn more, so that if ever the time comes that I needed my makeup done I could just do it myself and voila! here I am now :)

Anyway, enough blabbing. This was supposed to be a short entry to just show my EOTD hehe.

Straying from neutrals for a while but nothing too crazy hehe. I love color! :)

Here is a look I did for for Jaimies Contest. My inspirational cake was bright intense pink with white and green and purple details. I dont suppose it looks very much like the cake haha but i tried to replicate the intensity of the pink tones (plus sweet pink blush). I guess it is kinda like a cake cause when you think about it, too much or a lot of pink is like too sweet = cake. Okay im not making sense lol

I also lined the lower lash line with a sort of Chartreuse like green but the camera washed it out :/

Pretty Purple and Pink

Soo for a change I decided to use a color ive never used. Pink and Purple! I hated these colors when I was a kid haha but anyway, I loved it!

Here are the pictures. I apologize for the unruliness though haha I took the pictures 11 hours after application!! And it was pretty much still intact except for one of my falsies which look like its ready to fall off! Ohh and the pink E/S were not as vibrant but hello, 11 hours! haha

I also used a blush from the contour palette and even though it was huge, I stuffed it into my bag thinking that I would need to re apply. And surprise surprise! 11 hours after, it was still as vibrant! I wouldve posted a picture of my whole face but after 11 hours, I looked super exhausted haha

What I used:
Urban Decay primer Potion
Coastal Scents 88 Matte Eye shadow Palette
M.A.C. nylon (inner corner and tear duct)
Loreal HIP eyeliner
Ardell false lashes



I dont know if the pictures would help but these are the colors that I used (Click on the images to see a larger version - I encircled the color I used in red using paint haha):


1) Highlight - brow bone


2)Wash above the crease


3) Dabbed on both colors and applied on the lid


4) Applied on the crease



5)Used the 2 purples on the outer corner of eyes and crease, applied a little black on the outer corners and blended to add depth to the crease.

BLEND BLEND BLEND!! :)




Anyway, wore this to a baptism and a birthday party. The baby im baby sitting was baptized today then we had lunch at a korean/japanese/chinese buffet somewhere in Vallejo. We then went to Danville for Sarah's 6th birthday celebration with her family. I am exhausted!
