Swatches: NYX Paris and Power

After beheading most of my lipstick and transferring them into a palette, I realized that I mostly have neutral shades or extreme pinks oranges and red. So I decided to get a few more, I was a few weeks late though. There were only a few shades left at Digital Traincase . But I'm happy with my purchases, thanks Sol!

The 2 lipstick shades I got, Paris and Power. Both shades are pretty =)

I really like Paris, Power is a pretty shade too but I dont think it goes well with my skintone. Power has hints of lavender but it more on the pale pink shade. While Paris is a very girly pink shade.

Ruby Woo!

Since my train case was getting a little too over crowded I decided it was about time to depot some of my eye shadows.

And of course, depotting means Back to M.A.C.! For those who are not aware of what back to M.A.C. is, its a recycling program and a good one actually! You return 6 empty M.A.C. containers and in exchange you get a free product. Here in the Philippines, you get to choose from selected lipstick shades.

I actually never wear red lipstick, but the last time I visited a counter to exchange some of my depotted items I saw that Russian Red was available for back to mac so I decided to try it and fell in love. It was however, out of stock so I decided to get Twig instead. This time hoping that theyd have Russian Red, I visited the counter but alas! still no Russian Red. Gee Vee from M.A.C. Glorietta suggested Ruby Woo which is a matte red lipstick that is pretty close to Russian Red.

I really dont like how the swatched came out in te photos. Looks a bit pinkish red which I do not like haha but in person it looks much darker, I think my camera is able to pick up more of the pinker tones.

What it is:

I liked Russian Red because first off it wasnt drying, it did not smudge and budge even after eating and drinking, it was easy to remove and didnt leave me with red stained lips. With Ruby Woo, its almost the exact same thing it faded just a bit after eating but it felt really dry.



Some tips for using matte lipsticks or lipsticks with a drying formula:

• Exfoliate your lips. You can use a toothbrush or one of those scrubs that are meant for your lips.
• Apply lip balm. Apply it before you start your makeup application so it will have time to really sink in to your lips.
• You can also top it with gloss (but that kinda defeats the whole reason why you got a matte lipstick haha)

This is the first time i've tried the eyeshadow suites and ive noticed that the first color (the bigger one) is usually shimmery an quite sheer wile the second color is much darker, which can be used as the second color or crease color.

I dont think this is locally available, actually I only see this at CCO ( The Cosmetics Company Store). They cost $11.25 plus tax. I think it's a great deal for people who dont really plan on using a whole lot of eye makeup. The 2 shades can be used when you dont feel like making a big fuss in the morning and want to look a little more polished than the usual.

Im in love with these two! both are lovely shades and can't wait to use them for an EOTD. A little warning about the birds and berries though, it can get a little messy with the fall out so make sure to do your eyes before the rest of your face or apply powder under your eyes to catch the fall out.

Review: M.A.C. Pro Longwear Lipcolour

What it says:
A longwearing lipcolor that applies in two quick steps. Stroke on the special formulated colour base, flip the stick and apply the clear gloss. Soft and comfortable on...kiss, drink and eat. Smudge, run, transfer and feather proof. Pro longwear lipcolour is best removed with Cleanse off Oil.

Why you should buy it:
- True to what it claims, it is long wearing. I thought clear gloss was what it made it stick, but the colour base actually adheres to your lips.
- If you hate having to reapply lipstick this is for you.
- Best used for events when you wont have the time to check if you still have lipstick on

What you should consider:
- Its makes your lips dry
- Limited shades, the cream ones are much better as a lipstick then the frost ones.
- the color base applies and feels like a regular lipglass at first but starts to feel drying after a few seconds.
- I dont know if its just my lips or the frosted formula but it tends to crack. And no it doesnt feel soft and comfortable. It feels dry and cracked


I would really like to try the cream ones instead of the frost since I dont normally like frosted lipstick. Ill probably use this to top off a lipstick but wont wear it alone on my lips. Durashell looks a lot like the lipglass Nymphette. Such a pretty color but id probably just stick to the lipglass

Hot hot hot!

Im not referring to the weather, but yes it's definitely a hot hot hot day! 93 F! gahh! The air is so heavy, I feel like a pancake wrapped in butter with syrup! yuck! I just got out of the shower, and i want to shower again hahah. I probably will in a few.


But back to my entry, Hot hot hot is an eyeshadow from M.A.C.'s Spring Colour Forecast. Its a lovely shade but one of those will I ever get to use this kind of eye shadow. But im a fan of color, and I like combining unusual shades together. The moment I saw and swatched Hot hot hot I knew we were meant to be...hahah.


I actually like the shade on the lids alone, but I tried to use it with other colors the other day and i liked it! But forgot to take a picture so i'm redoing it now to share with everyone here hehe

What I used and how I did it:

M.A.C. Hot hot hot - applied on the lid blended towards the crease
M.A.C Expensive Pink - applied on the hollows and blended towards crease and browbone
M.AC. Charcoal Brown - applied on crease and blended
M.A.C Embark - applied on outer V blended towards mid of the crease

• Lined inner lower lashline with expensive pink, mid lower lashline with hot hot hot and blended towards expensive pink, embark on outer lower lashline blended towards hot hot hot
• Lined lower waterline midway and upper lashline with in2it gel liner
• Curl lashes, applied mascara (dont forget the lower lashes!) and voila.

M.A.C. Spring Colour Forecast Launch + Swatches

Its here!! The Spring Colour Forecast Collection! I dont know about you, but im nuts about colour. Pink and orange = love. haha. The last time I liked so many things in one collection was Style Warrior. I wasn't going to check it out, but as i was scouring all the M.A.C counters for the Girl Boy Browset, I saw Mikee of M.A.C. Glorrietta. I asked when Spring Colour was coming out and he said they're having the launch/ demo on saturday and invited me and the rest of my class. So there, how could I resist not going?
