Hey ladies! Today im posting about a few of my brushes, the Bedazz brushes! I like these brushes because these are the ones that dont usually come in the sets. Most sets contain the angled brush, but I find them too big. Anyway, will give a rundown and what I like about the brushes =)

Stippling Brush

- I havent used this for liquid foundation since I use creams. But I love using this for powder foundation. It applies evenly and lightly which is great because it doesnt give that cakey or powdery look.

Angled Brush

- This one is my favorite! Its super soft and medium sized (I have a smaller one from Sonia Kashuk) I love that its not too big and contours perfectly.

Blending Brush

- Thisss is what you need for your basic kit. Im glad Caby has this, because I often complained to her that sets lack this important tool. A blending brush is a must when youre doing eye makeup. This helps the colors to look more blended and to avoid harsh lines.

Brush Insanity

I know I just posted a review on Kirkland's brush set a few weeks back. And here I am again, about to review another brush set. And mind you, not just any brush set but a 30 piece set! Yes, Yes, I am insane LOL The Kirkland set is for personal use as well as the ** other brushes I have haha.


So why did I get another one? I got this for Makeup Classes and future Clients hehe. I dont think im lacking in brushes haha but its one thing to have brushes to use on yourself and to have to use it on other people as well. For hygiene freaks, that would be nightmare. I suppose you could wash them after using on yourself and before using on other people but thats a bit of a hassle.


I originally wanted the 28 piece brush set from Suesh (costs P4,500) I though it was insane to spend 4,500 cause I knew I was going to need to buy a few more things for makeup school. So I tried to convince myself I didnt need another set. But when we enrolled, we saw this set - they were selling it too. 30 piece brush set by Dashe Cosmetics for P3,400. So thats less than P1,100 and has 2 more brushes! haha Figured, it would be good to invest on a set anyway if I really wanted to pursue this. Soo walah! haha.

Why you should buy it?

• Almost all of the brushes are really soft and dense
• I like that there are a lot of e/s applicator spares. Saves time when you need to do makeup on more than one person
• Has extra concealer/ lip brushes too
• The blending brush is awesome
• I like the small round tipped flat srufaced fluffy brush (what a mouthful lol) I only have one thats similar to it so its good that this set has one. I like to use this to highlight or for applying powder under the eyes
• I really like the Brush powder (the one with white and black tipped hair) it's like a kabuki on a stick!
• Its a good set to buy if you plan on taking makeup classes
• Its of good quality
• No shedding at all!
• The mini detail eyeliner brush! I wasnt expecting that this set would have it. I do like this more than the one I purchased at landmark. Its just the right size and makes it easier to draw lines or shapes with precision.
  
• Its a lot cheaper than the 28 piece brush set from Suesh (though I cant compare the two)

What you should consider

• I prefer synthetic brushes, this one is made of animal hair :/
• You have to wash these thoroughly when you get it, almost all of the brushes bled.
• Be careful how you store them, the bigger brushes tend to bush out when placed back in the brush roll/case after drying haha
• Make sure brushes are completely dry before you place the plastic brush holders (to maintain the brushes' shape) cause it will stiiinkkkk!
• The Round tipped flat surfaced fluffy blush brush is a bit scratchy.
• I wish it had one more blending brush
• I dont like the angled brush for the eyebrows, I dont think its stiff enough or maybe im just so used to the one from the Kirkland set.

Ive already used these brushes and I do like them, no complaints at all really. I dont understand the Nose contouring? brush though haha it's odd shaped but im sure i'll find some use for it. But other than that, all the brushes from this set are great. I did mention that the round tipped flat surfaced fluffy blush brush (whew!) is a tad bit scratchy, it isnt as scratchy as the brushes you get at Watsons haha but compared to the rest of the brushes from this set, it isnt as soft.


Very happy with my purchase and very excited to use this for school. See? Im almost done with my list of things to buy for school. Oh well haha at least ill be more prepared for it by January :D

Feels like Christmas Morning!

Its hard to get things back to "regular programming" after doing so many Halloween posts ( I really do miss Halloween Makeup haha) But heres a review :)

Woot! Im a happy little girl :D

One thing I look forward to every year (well, aside from Halloween. And Spending Christmas in the US-which isnt happening this year btw :/ stupid expring visa lol) are the brush sets that Costco comes out with during the -ber months. I anxiously await what theyre going to come up with and im always happy with them hehe.

I first got a brush set in 2007 (my very very first brush set) and I loved how they were so soft. Insane soft. And very durable (I still have the brushes from that set and theyre all in perfect condition.)

Last years set was a tad bit dissapointing than the set from 2007. They were all of great quality, I just thought that the brushes that came in that set were not all essentials. As compared to the set from 2007 which had all the brushes you'll ever need when youre starting out. I do however love the angled/spoolie duo from that set and im glad its also in this years set!

This year, I really didnt think I wanted to get the set. Since I mostly have the brushes I need. And I will be getting an insane brush set to use for school. Buut, when I saw it online. I knew I had to have it! haha I think this is the best one that they came out with. I love you Mom! haha :D

It comes in this cute packaging ( I love that its less bulkier than the previous' years packaging) that flips open. The brush roll/case is more compact which is handy when you need to travel with them. It comes with an eyelash curler and a Mini set! I just love it! The handles this year are black and they have this slightly rubbery feel to them. And the best part? These brushes are cruelty free! They are made with anti-microbial and synthetic bristles. Treated with anti-microbial formula that helps prevent harmful bacteria and mold growth that can easily gather on brushes.

have smaller brushes when traveling and for touch ups!

They are all laid out flat and bathed hehe. Im going to play with my new toys as soon as theyre dry :D Sorry font on this post is just messed up. I tried changing the font and this is what happened. Couldnt change it back to normal. Darn it.

Spend vs. Save

We all know that we have to wash our brushes regularly. I try to do it as often as I can, but just thinking about it tires me. I really hate having to wash and clean them cause I get so bored haha. Im sure you know what I mean, especially you girls who have so many! haha I try to wash them the regularl way with baby shampoo and water. But sometimes when Im in a hurry I use the M.A.C. Brush Cleanser. And it works pretty fine. I just dilute it with water (1 part brush cleanser and 2 parts water). Its less than half full now. And though it really isnt that expensive, I really need to cut back on expenses. Which brings us to the Homemade Brush Cleanser which im sure most of you are familiar with from Enkore's Video.

M.A.C. Brush Cleanser $11

What you'll need:

• 1 cup Distilled Water (Free lol)

• 1/4 cup Alcohol (P40)

• 1/2 tsp. Dishwashing Detergent (I used Plamolive Aromatherapy in Lavander "Tough on Grease, Soft on hands! LOL- P79)

• 1/2 tsp Baby Shampoo (Baby Flo - P38.50)

• 1 tbsp Liquid Leave in Conditioner ( I added more hehe :) Loreal Elseve Nutri Gloss Conditioning Spray P260 this was the only one that they had :/ boo)

• A spray bottle/Atomizer (I had extras at home)

So you mix them all together, stirring gently so you wont form suds. Transfer it to the spray bottle and you're all set! Easy right? And it only cost me P417.50. Couldve been cheaper if i found a cheaper alternative for the leave in conditioner (I didnt want to use the gel leave in conditioner)

P417.50 vs. P600?

(M.A.C. Brush Cleanser price an approximate, I dont know how much it is here)

Plus the "recipe" lol will yield about 3 bottles (I think my spray bottles are about 100ml each? the tag says 385 but I highly doubt that haha). And theres so much left from all the Alcohol, Detergent, Shampoo and Conditioner I bought. I can probably make about ten times or more than the 233 ml from M.A.C. You might have all those things needed or some at home too.


Pros:
- It works even better than the M.A.C. Brush Cleanser, sadly. I only needed about 2 sprays on my dirtiest, baddest eyeshadow brush. haha
-Its super cheap!
-Very easy to make

Cons:
- It smells like alcohol. Which is fine. But I hate the smell of Alcohol (I blame it on spending too much time in Hospitals during College haha) but that is it!




So if youre looking to buy a brush cleanser, try searching for these items at home and whip some up! :D Im also making some Homemade mixing medium in a bit, as soon as I find a container for it hehehe :)
