Important Mental Note: "If you want something done, do it yourself."

I dont know how I feel about this birthday thing haha. Nonchalant perhaps. I dont feel like celebrating. Obviously still in my BLAH mood. doesn't help that the weather sucks and I dont sleep like a normal person. Cant I at least have a good sleep tonight? I seriously need to move more. I feel slushy 0.0

UPDATE: August 8

If you've been bloghopping, im sure youve come across the juicy poster above! haha Ponds big beauty sale happening on August 15-September 15 only. Watson's Stores are having a pre sale on August 14. To check the items that are going to be on sale click this link: PONDS

I think there are too many whitening (ekek) products in their line. Nothing against people who like those, I just personally think its ridic. I love my color hehe. But I am eyeing that Microdermabrasion kit. Its originally almost 1300 and during the sale it will be P389.00! how insane is that. Not quite sure if its any good though. Have any of you tried it? I think its a dupe of the one from Olay. I have not tried the one from Olay long enough to see if there were any changes in my skin but I love how it made my face feel soft after.

I know i said I didnt intend on celbrating my birthday. But Michie kept on asking what my plans were and lo and behold I found myself in Tides with a bunch of good friends. For years, I usually spent my birthday with 3 people: Philip, my brother and Kathy haha. We never planned anything, but on my birthday we would find ourselves together haha. So this year was kind of a change since the 3 were there and so were other people haha. Major thanks to those who came! I know yall are tired from work haha but thank thanks! :) And for those I didnt get to invite sorry, it was a spur of the moment thing. Those who didnt come, can suck my toes! lol. Ohh and thanks mom for the flowers and for the gift. And dad too! hehe thank you! thank you! Also to those who sent birthday greetings and well wishes. Thanks for making my birthday a whole lot better! :D

Holiday

Getting ready to go to bed (well no not really) when my friend Michie called and asked what I was doing. I said I was just at home and then she asks "whyy? tomorrows a holiday." I said "well, it makes no difference to me" Everyday is a holiday! lol

Anyway we ended up going to Cedar Grill in BF had some chicken and fries (I just had fries) and absolut kurrant with Sprite. After a while she said she was bored and wanted to move so we moved to Tides BF only to learn they dont serve Mango Margarita by the glass anymore. Sucks. Had some beer, garlic mushrooms and stuffed squid. I didnt know she was allergic to seafood so I had that baby all to myself. hahaha.

Here's my date :)

She came from Makati so I had time to prepare hehe. Getting sick of Neutrals and decided to use Vibrant Grape and Bright Future from M.A.C.'s Style Warrior.

I took th pictures when I got home. Hence, the unruly eyebrows. haha

Added Embark to deepen the color. I need to get a camera blackberry keeps washing out the colors cant see Vibrant Grape too much in the pics

L-R: Bright Future, Femme-Fi and Vibrant Grape. The one in the bottom is Embark (reddish brown)

Anyway, new layout. Im still getting used to it. Like this one better or the old one better? My last layout seemed gloomy to me hehe. Will finish customizing this later some links dont work yet. tululoo

You only eat what??!

Pescetarianism is the practice of a diet that includes seafood and excludes mammals and birds. In addition to fish and/or shellfish, a pescetarian diet typically includes some or all of vegetables, fruit, nuts, grains, beans, eggs, and dairy. (wikipedia)

Pescetarianism"Pesco/pollo vegetarianism", "pescetarianism" or "semi-vegetarianism" Or in other words a vegetarian who is a dumbass and thinks Fish are plants. (Urban Dictionary)

That second definition made me laugh.

Many people (vegans) do not consider pescetarians as vegetarians and refuse to be associated with people who are. But well, I really dont care haha. I did not choose to be a pescetarian so I can parade around and be called a vegetarian, a vegan or pescetarian. labels, labels, labels ahhh.

Anyway, I missed it. I said I would post something on my "anniversary". I thought I stopped eating poultry April of 2008. Turns out it was March haha. Soo, ive been at it for a year, 2 months and 8 days. Im not going to lie and say I havent cheated. I started this diet telling myself that I will eat meat on very special occassions (that doesnt include birthdays except my own haha) I can feel all the vegans raising their eyebrows about 2 inches more.

I orignally planed on going straight --vegan 2009 haha yes I was planning on it a year earlier. So I was researching; you cant just stop eating meat without knowing how youre going to replace all the nutrients you need. So I was researching on the internet when I came across the PETA videos on youtube (Meet your meet, etc.) So I watched all of it. Hmm it was horrible. I felt so bad I couldnt eat anything for a day :/ I felt so sorry for the animals that I decided "why wait a year? i'll do it now" Well mostly because I just really couldnt bring myself to eat meat after watching the videos.

Like I said, you cant just decide to be a vegetarian without knowing what to eat. So I lived mostly on wheat bread, tomatoes, oatmeal, okra, fruits, tofu and lettuce for a few days. Niice huh? haha. That explains some pictures that I have where I look malnourished LOL it was mostly because I wasnt eating the right stuff. being a vegetarian in the Philippines is a struggle. There really arent enough places that are vegan friendly. I didnt know anyone who was a vegan soo it was tough.

Eventually I decided to eat fish and seafood (sorry fishies) due to the lack of nutrients I was getting. And then followed cheese and dairy because I just couldnt live without cheese. I wasnt even aware of the term Pescetarian. I just thought I was on a modified less cruel diet.

VIRTUAL TOMATOES BEING THROWN AT ME BY VEGANS WHO ARE READING THIS.

I think this is what some people choose to do before they become Vegans. I dont know if im ready but I definately will, one day stop eating meat completely. I have friends who laugh at me and think im silly. Other people say im being pretentious and force me to eat meat. The biggest surprise was the support my Dad gave me. One of my biggest concern was how my Dad would react to it. he often tells me that I need to gain weight or im just doing things to lose weight (eg. exercise) 0.0 I didnt know wanting to be healthy was being anorexic. Anyway, after a days/weeks/months of going without meat, my dad eventually adapted my diet and did his own modified less cruel diet. He ate less meat and even encouraged Ate Ning to cook less meat. Aww :)

I will post a link to a comprehensive text on going Vegan. It discusses the struggles you deal with like people thinking how silly you are and forcing you to eat meat. I mean really, why? What I hate most is sharing it to people and they react by saying "Cut that PETA crap" and then proceed to talk about chicken and beef terriyaki. :/ how sensitive. You could at least say good for you but im not interested. That was probably one of the most annoying response i've ever gotten.

But anyway, my diet now has become more lenient. I eat meals cooked with meat but I dont eat the meat. I think its convenoient but im planning to change that up pretty soon. Its really difficult if other people, most especially the people you live with dont support your choice. Youre left to eat crappy foods at home because theres nothing else to eat.

There is such a thing as fat vegans btw, those are the people who dont eat the right stuff. Yes, they dont eat meat but they probabl eat a lot of bad carbs because they dont know what else to eat. I am slowly becoming that haha.

Anyway, I am happy with my choice. I know you might think, "well yeah youre not eating meat, how is that going to help?" Little things make a difference. Not everyone will understand or will think the same way as I do, but im happy that in my own little way im making a difference. Te lack of food sources and not knowing what and where to get food is the only thing stopping me from completely saying byebye to meat.

Some helpful tips:

"While a teenager's first instinct may be to dive directly into a strict vegan lifestyle, it's more likely that they'll have an easier time is they ease into their new way of eating slowly.
Phase out the animal products over a several weeks, eating meat just two or three times per week, then once per week, then not at all. Or perhaps starting as an ovo-lacto vegetarian, and then phasing out eggs and dairy."

"It's important that new vegetarians take care to make sure that all of their nutritional needs are being met. Most vitamin needs are more than adequately met by eating plant foods, and
the bonus of cutting out meat will be seen in the lower intake of saturated fats and cholesterol. But some nutrients will be inshorter supply, particularly calcium, iron, zinc and vitamin B-12
-- Calcium is important for healthy bones, and can be found in fortified soy milk, tofu and green leafy vegetables."

One mess of an entry.

Different things rolled into one entry.

ME:

Great News! I finally feel much better and have the appetite to eat! haha But that is good news, because for 5 days I couldnt eat anything. And if i did eat no matter how small the portion was it just didt not sit well in my stomach. :( But today while walking around in Walnut Creek, i felt it! Hunger! :)

FOOD:

I was looking for pictures of what I had today haha but this is all I found. I had a Yik Yak Salad which is an Oriental Salad with south of the border flair. A crsip of mix greens, cabages, jicama, red peppers, snow peas, tossed with sweet sesame dressing and topped with toasted almonds (yeah, that description is from their menu haha) with a side of Roadhouse Onions which is like the onion brick at Racks but much much much better! :)

And no Im not a pig haha I didnt have two I shared one with my tita. I want one NOW. mmm Im a fussy salad eater haha. I eat them because I have to and I like veggies but its rare that I actually like the salads from restos (this one is a fave and the one from cyma is pure love! ) Which is difficult when youre a starting vegetarian/pescetarian because you think well what else am i gonna eat?! But ive survived for almost a year! :) but anyway i'll save that for an entry on my anniversary haha

MAKEUP:

Anyway, Blue and yellow makeup. I back to mac'ed quite a few things the other day. But the ones I wanted to get were out of stock. Cant really complain when youre getting free stuff so I just got Clarity (they didnt have freshwater or electric eel) and Knight Divine (I want me some chrome yellow!). Clarity is a matte rich aqua color and very similar to Electric Eel, there was barely any difference when I swatched them on my hand but Electric Eel is a satin bright blue e/s with shimmer. Knight Divine ( i kept thinking Dark Knight! haha) is a Black with silver pear e/s its almost like dark gray though. Im about half done with the blue palette! yay! but im not buying anymore haha I constantly have to tell myself not to, but it just happens haha but mind you I just participated in a recycling program and just got them for free so that doesnt count haha.

Hot mess. LOL

This wouldve been so much better with chrome yellow :(

What I Used:

EYES
UDPP - base
Coastal Scent Yellow E/S - lid
M.A.C. Clarity E/S - lid, crease
M.A.C. Prussian - outer corner crease
M.A.C. Nylon - inner corner
M.A.C. MSF in Perfect Topping (Sugarsweet Collection) - brow highlight

FACE:
M.A.C. Studio Sculpt Fdtn
M.A.C.Moisture Cover concealer
Blush from the Coastal Scents Blush Paltte (1st pan on the bottom)

I wish I coudve taken better pictures but we were in a hurry to get to my cousins spelling bee. He was his schools representative for the county and he was one of the youngest. He's in 3rd grade and was up against 8th graders! how fair is that? but anyway, proud that he made it that far :)

MSF - Refined (Tan/peach/coral melange)

MSF - Perfect Topping (Pink/peach/lavender melange)

I love Perfect Topping. I got the wrong one, I was supposed to get refined which suits my coloring much better but I tried it anyway and I love it. Though I dont see myself buying more soon since it has very limited use. Im not a fan of the frying pan look so this I will mostly use as a cheek, nose, brow highlighter and its huge! It will take me years to finish it. My Belightful is about a year old and its pretty much intact.

But looking at Refined makes me want to get it haha. Nah, decisions are constantly made and though i feel tempted all the time to just splurge I always have to remind myself that my luck will eventually run out and in a few months I will be back to being broke again. So i better save!

RANDOM BLAH:

Ahh decisions decsions. I wish that when we decide, it becomes written on stone hahah. But life doesnt work that way and you have to remind yourself over and over again the reasons for your decisions. Like deciding not to get Refined. Whenever I see it, i have to tell myslef over and over again that I dont NEED it haha i just WANT it. No but I guess I wouldnt want it be that way. Its just so complicated haha we always have to conscioulsy make those decisions even when we say or think weve decided haha

We are always faced with decisions. What to eat? What to wear? What to watch?blah blah blah. And bigger decisions in life, "What do I do?" and making decisions is never easy. Especially when you constantly remind yourself that the decisions you make now will affect you in the future (think-butterfly effect haha) But thats the thing, how do you know that the decision you made was the right one? Most of the time, we find out, when we realize that we made the wrong decision.
