A girl's best friend or an insomniac's best friend. I know I have blogged about The Concealer/ Color Correcting Palette from Cinema Secrets. But really, this stuff is amazing! I call it my "industrial strength concealer" haha because I never found anything that works as well. It not only covers up the dark circles under my eyes, it does a good job of covering red spots and blemishes.

I cant say that the pictures are true to color. My phone keeps washing out colors :/ However, this is kit #2





I use a spatula and a stainless steel mixing palette to keep it sanitary hehe. Excuse the dirty brush hehe, I use a filbert brush (paint brush) to apply it - got this brush at a craft store (I love Michael's! lol)





I put stickers at the back - sort of like cheat codes. I kept forgetting which one was for what when I first got this hehe.

This works well if you set it with an invisible or no color setting powder before applying foundation. Regular powder would clump and it would be a big mess if you attempt to top it off with foundation. I use RCMA's no color setting powder. And I know I keep saying this but, that stuff is amazing. Wont ever clump!! So dont let the simple packaging fool you. Youre much better off with this baby than the more expensive ones (eg. MUFE and M.A.C.'s are a bit pricy)

3.2 oz. of goodness in no frill packaging!! - Comes in a salt shaker like bottle. Have had this for about 4 months. Still have so much left!





Got some small sifter jars so I can put some in it and have it in my bag - dont want people to think I carry Cajun Seasoning or something like it with me all the time. lol

Its amazing I was able to upload these pictures and finish this entry tonight. I know almost everyones been having really crappy internet connection. I heard its because of a fiber tear thats been causing a disruption in the undersea cables . And it'll continue on being crappy for a few days until they fix it. Running

Soo I finally got myself a pair of running shoes and ran out of excuses. The last time I worked out was hmm id say around September. And because I was being teased that I looked like a lollipop (HAHA) I decided to stop running for a while (big mistake!) And well, its been 6 months.

And though I run for reasons that equates vanity, I also needed to find something else to do than to just sit all day and surf the net. And I also plan on going to beaches ive never been to when I get home soo though I dont feel the summer vibe over here, I def need to look smashing! hahaha

I wish I could say that the 2 times that ive been to the park was good. The first time I went there to run I spent two hours walking, brisk walking or whatever cause I couldnt run for more than a minute without huffing and puffing haha. Oh well thats what you get for not working out for so long!

Today was better. I ran much longer but I took a nap after going around twice haha. My goal is to get to run around the whole place without stopping before I leave. Yeah, right! haha

So im hoping the next time I go back will be much much better. Its only sad that I can go there about once or twice a week. Once on a weekend and when im not "working". I really love the place though, its nice to just sit there and think or sleep or just watch the dogs or the ducks or watch people play soccer.

I really do wish we had something like this back home. I usually run on a machine because I am afraid of dogs and well its not pleasant to run while inhaling car fumes :/

I MISS YOU

Ive been trying to keep myself preoccupied with things to do so I wont miss friends and home. Its been going pretty well. Except on lazy sundays (like today) I wonder what I would do if I were back home. Anyway, I MISS YOU GUYS!

I especially miss when cabs comes over and we'd just crash and do nothing and everything haha. I'll be home soon enough :)

Pretty Purple and Pink

Soo for a change I decided to use a color ive never used. Pink and Purple! I hated these colors when I was a kid haha but anyway, I loved it!

Here are the pictures. I apologize for the unruliness though haha I took the pictures 11 hours after application!! And it was pretty much still intact except for one of my falsies which look like its ready to fall off! Ohh and the pink E/S were not as vibrant but hello, 11 hours! haha

I also used a blush from the contour palette and even though it was huge, I stuffed it into my bag thinking that I would need to re apply. And surprise surprise! 11 hours after, it was still as vibrant! I wouldve posted a picture of my whole face but after 11 hours, I looked super exhausted haha

What I used:
Urban Decay primer Potion
Coastal Scents 88 Matte Eye shadow Palette
M.A.C. nylon (inner corner and tear duct)
Loreal HIP eyeliner
Ardell false lashes



I dont know if the pictures would help but these are the colors that I used (Click on the images to see a larger version - I encircled the color I used in red using paint haha):


1) Highlight - brow bone


2)Wash above the crease


3) Dabbed on both colors and applied on the lid


4) Applied on the crease



5)Used the 2 purples on the outer corner of eyes and crease, applied a little black on the outer corners and blended to add depth to the crease.

BLEND BLEND BLEND!! :)




Anyway, wore this to a baptism and a birthday party. The baby im baby sitting was baptized today then we had lunch at a korean/japanese/chinese buffet somewhere in Vallejo. We then went to Danville for Sarah's 6th birthday celebration with her family. I am exhausted!

Challenges

I love challenges. I guess its because it gives me a chance to prove myself that I can do things I dont normally do or would hesitate to do .... Although, I rarely put myself up for it and people had to do it for me. So this years resolution is to grab every opurtunity that I get and to stop being soo effin negative about everything.

Last years "challenge" was joining the School pageant (HAH!). Yeah, so that was forced on me too. I honestly hate pageants or hated pageants (i dunno). I hate/hated it because

ONE: I dont like being judged by my physical appearance (which coincidentally was the question they asked me in the Q&A). I hate hate hate it. I think its rooted from past experiences, where I felt like I was not at par with what society considers to be beautiful. it's a load of bull, i know. But, growing up in a country where people only consider the mestizas to be beautiful- its kind of natural to think that way.

TWO: I do not like being compared to other people. Which is but natural in pageants. Its kind of because I sometimes feel inadequate and also because no two people are alike so I dont think its fair to compare people. haha

THREE: I do not feel like I need to be scrutinized and to have to exert much effort into making people believe or try to convince people that I am beautiful. BECAUSE I AM! belat! haha

FOUR: Does anyone really need to join those things? I see it as one way of trying to seek approval. And its nonsense. If youre sure of yourself, you dont need validation from anyone.

I can go on with this list, but its mainly because of my first reason. You dont immediately get to that point where the norms dont bug you anymore. Soo, you doubt yourself of being capable. But I am secretly and highly competitive though. hahaha. (BIG emphasis on secretly!) If you remember me asking you in college what your score was on a test, I wasnt as concerned of how you did but of how I did! hahaha. I do go about it differently though, so I may not seem like it. And I hold nothing against those I secretly compete against hahaha. Its gotten to a point where I dont think its normal anymore- I think it should go away after school age years- but thats off topic. LOL. The good thing about being competitive is that once you get into something, you really do go all out or at least try to do your best. I mean, youre already there so might as well go through the whole shebang without having to be shy or whatever.

So anyway, it turned out to be a great experience. For a couple of hours, I didnt feel like I had stage fright haha. Thanks to my friends, family and the Nursing department too! they were all very encouraging and really supportive. And everyone was so nice, and it wasnt like what you saw in movies where all the girls were catty and plotted against each other. haha. Oh no wait, there were some stuff that were odd and well some people who acted nice and all that crap but they really werent haha But I got along with everyone so that wasnt much of a problem.

P.S.: I won too, so that made the experience a 100 times better! haha
